“Military Through The Ages” - Jamestown, VA (every March)
Military Through the Ages (MTA) is the oldest and largest living history timeline event in the United States. Held each May on the grounds of the Jamestown Settlement, it hosts over 40 different groups, over 400 reenactors, and over 4,000 visitors over the course of the weekend. While our primary responsibility is interacting with the never-ending stream of visitors at our camp, we also find time for set-piece performances of our Pyrrhic Dance, combat sparring, armor testing, and other presentations about Greek culture, religion, and diet. This is a judged event, and the The Greek Phalanx won First Place Visitors’ Choice our first year in 2022, and Third Place Judge’s Choice in 2024.
These are currently our main events throughout the year. We’re always on the lookout for new opportunities, so please let us know if there’s a good historical timeline or Ancient Greek-themed event in your area.
